In the Japa 1…

Adanna was standing at the bus stop. She has just japad with her family to “Obodo oyinbo”.

She saw a young girl waiting for the bus at the bus stop and thought “Maybe I should say hi to her because she is dark skinned like me’’ and she herself hasn’t made friends either.

The girls was friendly and they chatted for a few minutes. Then the girl said to her, “You have an accent!" Adanna looked at her. The girl continued “ I have been here for awhile so I don’t have accent anymore”. Before Adanna could say anything, the bus arrived and they both entered and took separate seats.

Adanna thinks to herself, “Hmm…inukwa! Accent gini? Na you sabi oo”
